Our resources

A catalogue of Wan Smolbag resources is available at the National Library of Australia. The Vanuatu National Library has Wan Smolbag publications available for borrowing in Vanuatu.

We produce comic books and booklets with comic strips to make them more accessible and interesting. Vanuatu has a low literacy rate so it is vital that we make resources as accessible as possible. Our guides have workshop activities and aim to create debate and discussion around topical issues from the productions. Many books and guides can be directly downloaded here.

Our DVDs and CDs
Wan Smolbag has produced dozens of films, radio plays and documentaries. Many come with booklets for students and teachers, and have been used in schools in the Solomon Islands, Papua New Guinea, Fiji and Vanuatu. For a list of our DVDs, CDs guides and comic books, please see our Resource Catalogue. Most films have an accompanying student & teacher workbook (user’s guide). Most of our films are also available to watch on YouTube.

Play scripts
Each year we produce new plays for our youth drama group, Rainbow Theatre and core acting group. We have produced over 200 plays covering topics from reef protection, child rights, to politics and corruption.
All our scripts are available on request. Please get in touch with Jo Dorras if you are interested in using our scripts: jdorras@ymail.com

Using Wan Smolbag resources
All our books are openly licensed and free for communities to use and reproduce. Costs of sending materials from Vanuatu are high, so we encourage local printing where possible. Please credit Wan Smolbag for all uses, and please notify us if you are using our resources, to help us monitor and evaluate what is useful where.
